A high-quality, handcrafted small box made of teak. Meticulous craftsmanship throughout. The lid is decorated with Hakone marquetry-like ornamentation. Decorative wedges are also fitted in the corners. Teak is now a very high-grade wood, with logging and export restrictions in its main producing countries, Myanmar and Indonesia. This box is made entirely of solid wood. I fell in love with it and bought it about 25 years ago at an antique shop in Yokohama. External dimensions: 12.5cm x 22.5cm x H3.5cm Internal storage dimensions: 10.5cm x 20.5cm x H2cm, all approximate measurements. Just placing it on a desk gives it a handmade presence. This is a gem that I would like to see someone who appreciates it use.
