Thomas Dunson (John Wayne), a pioneer traveling with a wagon train of settlers, and his companion Groot Nadine (Walter Brennan) found a suitable land near Texas to build their own ranch. Dunson and Groot were stopped by the wagon train captain, who cited that the area was the territory of the native Comanche tribe, but their will was firm.
