Toyokatsu Special Deba and Yanagiba Knife Set, Carbon Steel, Deba with Buffalo Horn Handle This is a set of two "Toyokatsu Special" Japanese knives, handcrafted in the Showa era. This is a practical set consisting of a deba knife and a yanagiba knife. ■ Deba Total length: approx. 30.5cm Blade length: approx. 16.5cm There is a slight crack on the spine (see red circle in the photo). There is no problem with current use, but please consider this with the condition in mind. The handle has a buffalo horn ferrule. ■ Yanagiba Total length: approx. 34cm Blade length: approx. 20cm The ferrule is made of wood. Both blades have no chips. There are no significant sharpening wear or rough sharpening marks. They have not been sharpened by an amateur. Both have black stains (oxide film) characteristic of carbon steel. The handles show signs of use, but there is no stickiness or unpleasant odor. These are sold as-is, so sharpening and finishing should be done by the buyer.
