The knit around the ankle keeps the wind out, providing warmth and comfort. The inner material offers excellent cold protection. The cushioned feel makes it perfect for the coming season. The absence of a heel makes it a fatigue-resistant design. I purchased these but only wore them once and have kept them in storage. There is some damage to the inner fabric of the ankle.
