In the old Edo period, Raku Ichinyu and Chozaemon came to Ohi village in Kanazawa and began making pottery, which is the beginning of Ohi-yaki. Therefore, I understand that the "Ohi" in the title "Ohi teabowl" is not a person's name, but the name of the pottery derived from the place name. (lol) I thought that Ohi meant only Chozaemon or the Ohi-yaki Honke kiln, but I learned that there are quite a few other kilns thanks to this teabowl.
