Purchased approximately 20 years ago from an antique shop in eastern France. This is a full set of 6 antique French enamel canisters, dating from around 1920. They are a chic color, somewhere between chocolate and dark brown. The design is unusual, with thick horizontal lines and unique white lettering. The lids are round, and the overall shape is cute and plump. They seem easy to use anywhere, not just in the kitchen. Being a full set, they offer plenty of storage. The condition is as it was when purchased. They show signs of wear and tear from years of use in a French home, mainly on the bottoms, but they have the authentic look of antique canisters. There are some chips and rust, but these are mostly on the bottoms, lids, and the upper parts where the lids sit. The fronts of the canisters are relatively clean. Two of the six canisters have holes, so you may need to line them with paper or something similar. Some have damage to the rims. This is a cute and chic design that I've never seen before, and they look very charming when displayed. They would also be great for display in a shop. Approximate sizes including the lids: The largest one is about 13 cm in diameter and 18 cm in height. They are old and have dirt, scratches, chips, and fading.
