Reprinted May 15, Showa 54 (1979) From the Preface: Considerable effort was required to arrange the photographic techniques for fishing for several dozen species of fish that inhabit different environments. In the end, following the heart of the water, which is the fish's living environment, I arranged them from "high to low," that is, from fishing in high-altitude areas to fishing in low-lying areas around river mouths, and then into the sea, from shore fishing along the coastline to coastal boat fishing and offshore fishing, to give a general overview. If, while looking at the photos and reading the simple explanations, you can unconsciously understand the "way of fishing" and correctly recognize "Fishing in Japan," the author's greatest wish will be fulfilled.
