Textile techniques developed in cities holding ancient ruins, and these techniques and cultures have been passed down to modern Pakistani carpets. Gabbeh is a Persian word meaning "rough." It is famous for being woven by the nomadic Qashqai people of Iran, but if we trace its origins, they are considered to be a Turkic people who migrated to Persia from the Timurid dynasty far to the east. To survive with nature that rejects people, such as mountain ranges and deserts, the "rough" Gabbeh carpet was created, rather than silk carpets to decorate rooms. Considering that meaning, it may be natural that the Gabbeh technique remained in Pakistan, which is located on the route from Central Asia to Persia and has the Thar Desert. ◾️ About Design and Performance The design features plants and flowers, symbols of life, depicted like fireworks. The color is white. It has a moderate ivory tone, and I think it is a warm white. Because it is 100% wool, it is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. You can use it with peace of mind even in homes with children and pets. Also, because the wool is dyed by extracting colors from natural plants, I think the charm is that you can feel the rich colors that are different from artificial colors. ◾️ Remarks Purchased directly on-site in September 2024.
