This is a silk scarf from JIM Thompson. I purchased it in Bangkok and have kept it in storage without using it. I love Jim Thompson and have collected many items, but I have too many and can't use them all, so I'm putting this up for sale. The gorgeous arabesque pattern with the elephant design is so Thai and lovely. The base color is a deep red, like burgundy or wine red, and the pattern is gold, making it luxurious and elegant. I think it would be beautiful framed. The fabric is a soft and lustrous twill weave. It's not the stiff, crisp silk that Jim Thompson often uses, but rather very soft, so it feels comfortable when worn around the neck. It's a large size, so there seem to be various ways to use it.
