Fujimi Sato (Sato Fujimi: 1930–) Lineage: Togatta Teacher: Bunsuke Sato 弟子: (None listed) [Biography] Born on December 2, 1930, as the second son of woodworker Bunsuke Sato and Yoshino in Togatta-Shinchi. From August 1945, he trained in woodworking under Bunsuke, and began making kokeshi dolls in the spring of 1947. In 1952, he worked for six months as a craftsman at a new type of kokeshi factory run by Shinichi Sugano's younger brother in Shiroishi City, after which he returned to Togatta. After getting married, he worked for Shimada Shoten in Sendai and Tamajiro Murakami in 1959, and in 1964, he purchased a house in Tenjinzawa, Izumi Town, Miyagi District, and started his own business.
