This is a Nachiguro stone inkstone (suzuri). It is a genuine article made from high-quality natural stone, a specialty of Kumano, and is affixed with a "Baikado" seal. Both the front and back surfaces have a beautiful natural texture and a sense of weight. It comes with a box, but there is deterioration due to scratches and stains from aging.
