This is a rare RED WING 2268 Engineer Boot from the earliest period, even older than the PT91 era, featuring the original vertical wing tag. Furthermore, this is a golden-era 2268 with the stamp on the inside of the shaft. Although difficult to read in the images, it appears to be a 2268 manufactured in July 1991. The 2268s from this period have thick leather, the brown core is most beautiful, and the leather quality is exceptionally good. Among them, this 2268 has exquisite grain on the shaft, like horsehide, reminiscent of 1950s Red Wings. The right boot's shaft, in particular, has the best grain, like a worn-in horsehide leather jacket, and has aged beautifully. Also, the contrast between the left and right boots is fantastic, making them incredibly cool. Truly, I believe this is a jackpot pair. Also, as you can see in the images, the oil absorption is excellent, and it shines brilliantly with just a light application of oil. Moreover, as shown in the images, it's a brown core pair. I think this is a superb pair that could easily grace the cover of Lightning magazine. It has a wonderful allure that cannot be expressed by just a few years of wear. The size is 7.5D (fits like about 26.5cm) which is a golden size. The 2268s from the vertical wing tag era are made with more room than the PT91 era, so the size is generally larger than the size notation.
