This camera is an SLR camera with an open aperture metering system, released in 1974 by Mamiya, which developed and patented a mechanism that fixed the lens in a set position while using the M42 screw mount (Praktica mount). The winding lever also functions as a preview lever, allowing for stopped-down metering when set to the preview position. Operation is good. The body has some noticeable scratches and dirt, mainly on the bottom plate. The leatherette on the back plate has shrunk by about 2mm horizontally. The shutter curtain is generally in good condition. The light seals have been replaced, but it's a DIY job. The viewfinder, prism, and mirror have some minor age-related dirt, but are generally in good condition. Some dust can be seen inside the viewfinder. Also, since the CdS light-receiving element is attached to the mirror instead of the top cover, there is a slightly darkened, roughly square area in the lower part of the viewfinder, but this is not a defect and is part of the design. The lens is an Auto Mamiya Sekor SX 50mm f/2 from the newly developed SX series for open aperture metering. There is some haze on the rear element, which may result in slightly softer image quality. Note that SX series lenses differ from standard M42 mount lenses, as they have an additional lens stop pin. To conceal this pin, the aperture ring is wider and protrudes towards the body, so they may not be compatible with other manufacturers' M42 mount cameras. They cannot be mounted on Yashica Electro series cameras. They can be used without problems on Pentax S series and Fujica ST701 cameras. I have not confirmed compatibility with other Fujica cameras. As an aside, this lens appears to be made by Tomioka Optical, not Setagaya Koki. The lens cap is a repurposed Canon cap. The lens hood is the genuine Mamiya Sekor 52φ. The filter is a Kenko MC Skylight (1B) 52mm, with age-related scratches and dirt. The strap is a genuine product, but shows considerable signs of use. It has also hardened considerably with age. The standard battery is a silver oxide battery SR44, but alkaline batteries LR44 can be used without any problems.
