I made a patchwork tote bag from scraps of old kimono fabric (some new cotton and linen fabrics). This is a one-of-a-kind item. I made it by collecting fabric from girls' kimonos. I love the colors and textures of kimono and furoshiki fabrics! But I don't have many opportunities to wear them, so I made this from scraps I collected little by little so I could enjoy them at hand. I used to make mostly square-shaped bags, but I received some helpful feedback from customers, such as: "A horizontal type would be nice." "It would be great if it had a gusset." "It would be nice if the handles were long enough to carry by hand." So I'm taking their suggestions into consideration(^^) There is one pocket on the inside. It's a one-of-a-kind design in the world. I haven't used any stiff interfacing, and I've tried to keep the softness of the old fabric as it is. The size and material of the fabric vary, so it's not perfectly straight. The materials are basically old fabrics. I hope someone who appreciates that will buy it(^^) The design is different on each side. For a quick trip out, or for shopping. Because it's mainly made of old fabric, it's not very strong, so the handles and lining are made of new fabric. The handles are denim fabric, and the inside is thin black cotton fabric. Size approx.
