This plate features a dynamic, large lobster, a school of small fish, and aquatic plants, all depicted in a deep cobalt blue. The design is by the master craftsman, Erik Nielsen. Despite its bold composition, it evokes a sense of tranquility, influenced by Japanese ukiyo-e, a reverence for nature, and the aesthetics of the Art Nouveau style. The soft colors achieved through the underglaze technique and the asymmetrical yet harmonious design are truly a masterpiece that symbolizes the artistry of Royal Copenhagen. Based on the backstamp ("R" and "O" with dots above), it is estimated to have been manufactured around 1985-1991.
