This is a used and refurbished Sakai Toji Iwakuni-made yanagiba knife. It has a tasteful water buffalo horn bolster and a signature. It's a yanagiba made of the common Shirogami No. 2 steel, but as expected from Sakai Toji's high-end Iwakuni brand, it cuts very well. It has an initial, quite acute, Honbazuke (true edge) which makes it prone to chipping, so a small secondary bevel has been added to the edge as a preventative measure. It has been polished with a power grinder to remove rust and dirt, so there are polishing marks. Some rust marks that couldn't be removed remain as pitting (dimples). There is one small chip on the blade, and a 2mm chip on the heel, as well as some wormholes in the bolster, so please refrain from purchasing if you are looking for a pristine item. The knife has been sharpened for use, but the desired edge shape and angle depend on the user, so please purchase this item only if you are able to maintain and adjust it yourself. Blade length: Approximately 24cm Blade width: Approximately 3cm Steel thickness near the heel: 4mm Steel thickness near the tip: 2.5mm Shipping is planned via Yu-Packet.
