Purchased over 25 years ago from an antique shop in France. This is a vintage French warning sign plate made of thick plastic. It's striking with its white background and lots of red lettering. It reads "COUPER LE COURANT AVANT TOUTE INTERVENTION," which means "CUT THE POWER BEFORE ANY INTERVENTION." It seems this sign was hung in the electrical rooms of French apartments, etc., as a safety measure to encourage turning off the power before work.
