Celadon and Underglaze Red This is a confectionery bowl (kashi-ire). The name of the kiln of the artist is written in a calligraphic style and is unreadable, so it is not listed. There is a wooden box, and although it is probably the container for this confectionery bowl... the wooden box has a description of arabesque patterns... it is uncertain. My grandmother, who ran a flower arrangement and tea ceremony class, used this to serve sweets to the students of her flower arrangement class.
