This is a Tarabuco woven tapestry purchased in Bolivia. Tarabuco is a small town about 60 kilometers from Sucre. Tarabuco weaving is a traditional textile art passed down in this area, where indigenous people live. The tapestries depict festivals, daily life, animals, and nature with a unique sensibility. This work depicts a wedding scene, with a couple standing in the middle (see photo 3, top). A fishing line is strung across the top, allowing it to be hung immediately with a single push pin (see photo 4). I purchased this about 10 years ago and displayed it at home, but due to a move, I no longer have a place to display it. I would like to pass it on to someone who will cherish it. Just hanging it on the wall will add warmth and color to your room. Recommended for those who appreciate ethnic culture and handmade crafts.
