【Item No. J002】 A set of three portrait photographs of a boy taken in a German photography studio from the late 1800s to the early 1900s. A "carte de visite" (CdV) means "visiting card" in French. Specifically, it refers to a small card with a portrait photograph attached to a mount, which became widespread in France and other parts of Europe in the 19th century. These were usually the size of a business card and were exchanged as introductions or souvenirs in social and business settings. These are real photos from the time, including the mounts. They are perfect for antique and vintage collections, as well as for junk journals, scrapbooks, or displaying in small frames as interior decor for shops.
