Since the pills are small, I thought it would be better to leave them as they are rather than cut them off, but I think it would be cleaner if you removed the pills... I've only worn it a few times, but I think the pills were probably caused by friction during storage... It's lovely on its own, so please consider it if you understand the damage. I've included a picture of a white top with the same pattern at the end because the pattern is hard to see.
