Made during the Meiji to Taisho eras, this piece features a modern chrysanthemum design. In places, the paint has splattered, and upon close inspection, there are areas where the gold paint appears to have been smudged before drying. This suggests the work of an apprentice craftsman, and the somewhat unskilled brushwork is quite interesting. There is a 1mm chip in the gold paint on the spout of the teapot. The 30x50mm small item, is it a toothpick holder? Its purpose is unknown.
