The weave, which uses plenty of gold and foil threads, creates a beautiful piece that changes appearance depending on how the light hits it. While there are areas, including the otaiko section, where the texture of the foil has changed, we believe this is due to the weaving and aging process, as there are no visible stains or blemishes even when viewed closely. Although there is some evidence of use, the fabric overall has a firm texture and feel. We recommend it as a remaking material for bags, pouches, tapestries, costumes, small Japanese items, and more.
