RON THOMPSON is a fishing gear brand mainly sold in Europe. The fabric is a tightly woven poly-cotton fabric with a PVC coating, giving it a Ventile-like stiffness. The thick, stiff fabric is highly windproof, and when worn with a fleece or knit underneath, it provides enough warmth to wear in a warm city like Tokyo in December (around 13 degrees Celsius). The stiffness of the fabric gives it a nice aging effect. The details, with pockets and zippers everywhere, are appealing to men. Similar jackets are available, but most are made of cheap nylon fabric. This jacket, however, has a thick fabric and a unique faded green color that gives it a vintage aura, setting it apart from others. A similar jacket in poor condition was sold for over 40,000 yen at Koenji Safari. ■ Condition The fabric is in good condition for a vintage item. There is some fading due to overall wear, but no noticeable stains. The zipper on the left armpit is missing and cannot be opened. The pull tab is missing from the zipper on the left waist pocket, and there are repairs to the surrounding fraying. There is a 1cm tear on the side of that pocket, repaired from the inside. There is a patch and repair marks on the side of the second button from the bottom. There is a pinhole on the left sleeve. There is a small scratch on the right sleeve. The inside nylon is clean. There is dirt on the cuffs. Washed. In good condition for a Euro vintage item and can still be worn.
