It uses the "379X" last, which was developed during World War II and used in shoes actually supplied to the U.S. military. The moccasin stitching applied to the toes, known as the Norwegian front, is characterized by hand-sewing by skilled craftsmen. The moccasin is sewn with the last inserted, and the lining is not sewn, so the stitches do not touch the foot when worn. Only about 10 pairs can be sewn in a day even by skilled craftsmen, giving it a sense of luxury different from machine stitching.
