This is a lidded tea bowl by Kato Sakusuke, considered the greatest master in the history of Seto ware. It is in the Oribe style, Sakusuke's specialty. The body is decorated with dried persimmons, and there are paintings on the inside of the bowl and the underside of the lid. Given that it is a work by Sakusuke, the quality is impeccable. Furthermore, it is Narumi Oribe, which is highly popular among Oribe wares, and Narumi Oribe is rare even among Sakusuke's Oribe pieces, making it a masterpiece among his works. It is undoubtedly one of the highest-quality Oribe lidded tea bowls available on the market.
