This is a tenugui (Japanese hand towel) from Fujiya, an established shop in Asakusa. My family framed it and enjoyed it as a decorative tenugui. They had dozens of Fujiya's tenugui and would change them every few days according to the season, so it's in excellent condition with almost no damage. However, since the frame had a wooden edge, there are some areas where the color has transferred, which is noticeable on the lighter-colored parts. It may fade, so it hasn't been washed. It has been stored for the past few years. I think you can still enjoy displaying it.
