This is a set of five chawanmushi (steamed egg custard) bowls, which have been stored in a cupboard since the Showa era. There are only four small plates, presumably for placing the bowls on. Everything included is shown in the photos. Based on the atmosphere, they appear to be Imari ware, but there is no certainty, and the mark is unreadable. Perhaps it says "To" (涛) or "Kiyo" (清). Please take a look if you know more. As they are old, there is some staining on the white parts, such as the foot of the bowls. This is likely due to aging, but the frequency of use and origin are unknown. Both the bowls and the small plates have some spots where blue paint seems to have splattered, but this appears to have been the case from the beginning. Please also check the photos.
