The simple, hand-drawn patterns are characteristic of the cloth from this Tuban region (Gaji village). Cotton grown in the village is hand-spun into thread and then woven on a handloom. Each piece has its own individuality; the thickness of the cloth varies depending on the spinner, and the softness and fineness of the weave vary depending on the weaver. The indigo for the dyeing is also grown in the village, and indigo vats are kept in homes where indigo is fermented. This product is a tablecloth sewn by joining pieces of such precious cloth in the center to create a tablecloth size.
