This is a series of 7 films, the "Gurentai Series," broadcast from 1959 to 1964. Whether it's appropriate to call it the "Gurentai Series" is debatable. Researching on a computer, some include "Blood and Sand" making it 8 films, while others stick to these 7. Some also consider the "Operation" series as separate, with 4 films excluded. Kihachi Okamoto, who directed "Independent Gurentai," stated that the Gurentai Series ended with the first two films. Perhaps "Blood and Sand" is included because actor Makoto Satō appeared in all of them, totaling 8 films. However, I'm sticking to my opinion and consider "Ant Hell Operation" as the last film, making it 7. "Blood and Sand" is a Kihachi Okamoto film, but it feels different, so I excluded it. The following 3 films (all in black and white) are by Kihachi Okamoto: * Independent Gurentai * Independent Gurentai: Westward * Dobu-Nezumi Sakusen (Operation Dobu-Nezumi) The following 2 films are by Senkichi Taniguchi: * Yamaneko Sakusen (Operation Wildcat) (color) * Dokuritsu Kikanju-tai Imada Shagekichu (Independent Machine Gun Corps Still Firing) (black and white) "Norainu Sakusen" (Operation Stray Dog) (black and white) is by Jun Fukuda. "Arigoku Sakusen" (Ant Hell Operation) (color) is by Takashi Tsuboshima. I bought all 7 films randomly, so the packaging is inconsistent. Please check the photos. The disc surfaces of all 7 films are almost pristine. "Independent Gurentai," "Independent Gurentai: Westward," and "Dobu-Nezumi Sakusen" come with booklets (see photos).
