I purchased this from Kokeshika's ONLINE shop a few years ago and displayed it in a collection shelf (with a door). The beak area looks like it has a stain, but it was like that from the beginning. It seems to have been applied during the painting process, and the shop explained that it was unavoidable due to the handmade nature of the item. When you open the head, there are 10 very cute little birds inside. It's a work called "Counting Play." It's a lovely piece.
