This is a ceramic plate by ceramic artist Masayasu Ishihara. The accompanying note at the time of purchase mentions Chiyoda Kiln. It was displayed as a decorative plate. There is no box. It has a thick, rough texture and feels solid. (I'm an amateur and apologize for my lack of descriptive ability.) The plate's design includes the number 1997, so it is believed to be a work from 1997.
