DigiTech's HOT BOX, a 2-in-1 twin pedal effects unit from the PDS series released in the 1980s. The left pedal is Delay Bypass ♾️Repeat, and the right is Distortion Bypass. Distortion can sometimes blend into the overall band sound or become too dry. In such cases, using delay can help the hard distortion mesh well within the band's performance, adding character to the lead tone that might have been buried (excerpt from a BOSS effects unit explanation). The HOT BOX allows for distortion + delay operation that doesn't get lost in the sound of other instruments, all in one effects unit. Delay times selectable are 16MSEC, 63MSEC, 250MSEC, 1SEC, and 1SEC/HOLD, with a 1-second looper function. Operation confirmed with a 9V battery, with no noise or crackling.
