I happened to find a mat at a recycling shop I frequent, and it was on a wagon sale, so I arranged pockets on it in a balanced way. Since it's a rug, all the pocket openings are closed. It's just a design to prevent snagging or catching. Filling it in completely would be fine, but I like how it complements the original mat's border pattern... I like that it's not a mat from a 100-yen shop or 3COINS, so I haven't attached a backing.
