The yarn contains a lot of air, and the gaps in this yarn absorb moisture rapidly. Its absorbency is 1.5 times that of a typical towel. It's fluffy and light, and becomes even fluffier and more voluminous after washing compared to when new. Even with its volume, it's about half the weight of a typical towel, and it has a fluffy, soft texture that you'll want to keep touching. Because it's a towel that contains air, it also dries quickly after washing. <Design> A loop has been attached to one end of the towel so that it can be used as a low-ryu hat to cover the hair, nose, and mouth area. Use it by hooking one ear into the loop, passing it under the eyes and over the nose and mouth, and wrapping it around the head to cover the entire head. We highly recommend it for wiping sweat during sauna sessions and for use on skin that has been "totono" (well-conditioned) after a sauna. <Notes> The surface will shed lint when first used. We recommend washing it separately once before use. The lint shedding will subside as the number of washes increases.
