The hardness is selected and used from 13 to 18 (slightly hard to slightly soft) on the Reeds'n Stuff hardness gauge. To minimize changes after finishing, it takes about two months from assembly to finishing. During finishing, the reeds are carved to ensure that the "p" articulation responds without problems, that the balance is good from low to high notes, and that a wide range from "p" to "f" can be played. The reeds are finished so that the tone remains firm even when playing "f".
