Author Profile Born in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture. He was born out of wedlock to a father who was a retainer of the Kaga clan and a maid. A week after his birth, he was taken in by Akai Hatsu, the common-law wife of the chief priest of a temple near his birthplace. His real father died when he was nine years old, and after his real mother left home, he was separated from her, an upbringing that later deeply influenced his literature. "Born in the belly of a common woman on a summer day" (from "Saisei's Haiku Collection," 1943). This verse shows that Saisei was still affected by it even after he was over 50 years old. His talent was recognized by Hakushu Kitahara, and he began contributing to the poetry collection "Zanboa" hosted by Hakushu. Through "Zanboa," he also met the poet Sakutaro Hagiwara, who became a lifelong friend, and together they were expected to be the most promising poets in the Taisho era poetry world. In 1919, he published the lyrical novel "When I Awaken to Sex." Since then, he has also written many novels. In 1959, he received the Noma Literary Prize for "Kagerou no Nikki Ibun," and the following year, he used the prize money to establish the Museo Saisei Poet Award. Representative works: "Love Poems" (1918) "Lyric Collection" (1918) "When I Awaken to Sex" (1933) "Ani Imoto" (1934) "Death in Battle" (Kikuchi Kan Prize, 1941) "Anzu-ko" (Yomiuri Literary Award, 1957) "Kagerou no Nikki Ibun" (Noma Literary Prize, 1958-1959) "Honey's Affection" (1959) "Biography of My Beloved Poet" (Mainichi Publishing Culture Award, 1959) This is a boxed edition of "Shinano no Uta" by Saisei Muro, first published by Takemura Shobo in January 1942. The box has some age-related yellowing and minor scratches, but the book itself has no stains, writing, or library stamps. A new edition of this work was published by Shimizu Shobo in January 1946. Please consider purchasing this book, understanding that it is an 82-year-old antique book.
