"WONKI WARE" is made in South Africa by hand, taking time and care. The shaping and coloring of the vessels are all done by hand, so there may be undulations on the rim and unevenness in the color. It takes about 3 days to dry the colored vessels, a very primitive way of making things. It has a simple and powerful texture, and the organic form with distortions here and there fits comfortably in the hand, allowing you to clearly feel the warm spirit of Africa. The vessels themselves are thin and light, and the balance with the simple texture is exquisite, giving a modern nuance. It is also attractive for its ease of everyday use.
