This is a loop tie with a motif of a lion's face (a Japanese-style design like a Shisa or Komainu). It can be used as an alternative to a necktie, or as an accessory for Japanese clothing. The motif of the lion's head, carved in detail, is a distinctive feature. It also has the meaning of warding off evil and as a charm.
