The length is long, like a tunic, but when I actually wear it, the hem stops around my waist, so it feels like a cut-and-sew. The fabric is flowy and very easy to wear. I think it's better to wear an inner layer like a tank top. I bought it 5 or 6 years ago and wore it a lot, but there are no particular stains or scratches, and it's still in wearable condition.
