The wall plates are now discontinued and difficult to obtain. I purchased this new and displayed it for a short period on a plate stand. I believe it is in beautiful condition with no damage, unchanged from when I purchased it. There is no box, so it will be shipped securely packed with bubble wrap to prevent breakage.
