Traditional embroidery from Pinotepa, Oaxaca, Mexico Oaxaca embroidery has characteristics unique to each region, but Pinotepa embroidery is very rare, and I have never seen it sold in Japan. Of course, it is hand-embroidered. As a dress, it has no stretch and only a small zipper, so it is suitable for slender and small women. The front and back are almost the same except for the embroidery on the chest. Width: 39cm (at the narrowest point) ~42cm (under the sleeves) Hem width: 52cm Length: 84cm (excluding the frill) Slight stain on the line in the last photo. Overall, a faint yellowing that is not very noticeable. (I feel that the photos show a stronger yellowing than it actually is) The white fabric is also made of cotton traditionally worn in Oaxaca. The embroidered parts and side lines are dark navy satin fabric. Purchased about 10 years ago and worn a few times. The purchase price was about 10,000 yen, but since the cost of living in Mexico has increased, I think it would be more than 20,000 yen now (this is my personal opinion). As a dress, it has low value as a used item, but because the embroidery is beautiful and rare, I have categorized it as "Art."
