This is a small mountain tea bowl from Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture, representing one of the six ancient kilns, dating from the mid-13th century. It's a small bowl with a beautiful reddish-brown color from the firing. The thick body gives it a warm presence, and a thin layer of natural glaze creates a scenic effect around the edges. There are kiln marks and slight scratches on the rim, but otherwise, there is no noticeable damage or repairs. It can be enjoyed as a collectible or used as a tea bowl.
