This is a homemade violin mute. It reduces the sound during practice. 【Features】 Not only does it provide a noticeable muting effect, but the effect is also confirmed numerically through spectrum analysis. In the 1000-6000Hz range, which is the source of noise harmonics, there is a 5-10dB attenuation, meaning the sound is less than half as loud. I always use this when practicing, and I'm surprised by the loud sound when I occasionally forget to put it on ^^ ARTINO and similar mutes that are placed on the bridge have a high muting effect, but they have drawbacks such as: ・The point of contact between the bow and strings is not visible when attached. ・The fundamental tone you want to hear during practice is not audible. ・Since it's only placed on the bridge, it can fall off, or cause problems if you put it in the case while attached. ・It can leave marks or rubber stains on the bridge. ・It's heavy. I made this to overcome these issues. The Quarto, which I am selling separately, couldn't be attached to some instruments because the parts were made larger to achieve muting, but this time, I made the parts smaller and provided clearance up to the E string. By bringing the parts as close to the strings as possible when attaching them to the instrument, a muting effect similar to the larger Quarto is achieved. 【How to Attach】 Attach the two parts so that they sandwich the bridge. They are secured with strong magnets, so when attaching them to the bridge, slide the smaller part from the side to avoid impacting the bridge. Finally, raising the parts as high as possible without touching the E string will increase the muting effect. 【Important Notes】 The height of this product (from the center of the bridge to the E string) is approximately 21mm, so it should fit if you have a standard 4/4 violin bridge height. Some people have said they could use it on a 1/4 violin, but I cannot guarantee it. In rare cases, even with a 4/4 violin, the height to the E string may not be sufficient due to the instrument's shape, so please check before ordering.
