This is a valuable, solid keyaki (Japanese zelkova) wood jubako (tiered food box) with Shunkei lacquer. The wood grain is magnificent. It dates back to the Meiji era or earlier. While there are some areas where the lacquer has peeled, scratches, and a small gap on the inside, there is no warping, which is characteristic of keyaki wood. It can still be used.
