This is a replacement truss rod cover, an aftermarket product imported from overseas. It's made to replicate Gibson's vintage covers, roughly from the '59 to early '60s. In other words, it recreates the thin black top layer and the thicker, slanted white layer. Of course, there's no "roll mark" on the black top, but it's quite thin. It's no exaggeration to say it's equivalent to the covers included with recent Historic Collection guitars. Like those Historic Collection covers, it has a slightly slimmer impression. It's a cut above the bulky regular versions. Unlike the unsightly, jagged white parts of MONTREUX products, this has a very realistic level of reproduction. If there's a protective sheet on the top surface, please peel it off before use. The photos were taken with the sheet still attached. There are no scratches. Occasionally, covers without the protective sheet arrive, but we ship them randomly, so please understand that sales are final (no returns) even if there is no sheet. Furthermore, the following mounting screws are included: These are reproduction screws that mimic the truss rod cover screws used on Gibson Les Pauls from 1959, etc. As shown in the image, they are very similar to the Historic Collection R9 reproduction screws. (Of course, we don't intend to compare them to genuine vintage screws.) You can see the differences if you look closely, but just by replacing them, the atmosphere will change considerably.
