Naodai Seikichi Deba knife, blade length approximately 18cm, used and refurbished, junk item. I purchased this knife used because I wanted to try sharpening a Naodai Seikichi knife. I sharpened it, but it seems the previous owner flattened the back, and the steel is generally thin. There are parts near the blade edge where the steel is almost invisible from the front, so please consider it a junk item. Please check the last photo for the steel condition. Although the steel is thin, it was difficult to sharpen even with PA220 at an angle, and it was hard. There was no rust, so I suspect it's made of Yasuki steel, possibly blue steel #1. Originally, there were chips and irregularities in the cutting edge, so I started with a 120 grit stone and finished with a 12000 grit stone. Because the steel is thin, I sharpened it with a large clam-shell edge to prevent chipping. The blade edge is about 40 degrees, but it still has a considerable sharpness. It has a sense of weight, but it doesn't tire you out when holding (and sharpening) it, which I thought might be the quality of Naodai Seikichi. This is a hobby sharpening, so it's not perfect. Also, you can see the steel layers remaining when viewed from the back, so I think it can still be used, but please consider this item a junk item. If anyone wants to use it, please do. I plan to ship it via Nekopos. I applied camellia oil, but since it's freshly sharpened, rust may appear during transportation. Please understand. #NaodaiSeikichi #DebaKnife
