This is a used book from approximately 30 years ago, but I believe it is in extremely good condition. I have stored it in my personal library for many years, but I am now putting it up for sale after rereading it as part of a "decluttering" effort. There is some slight fading on the cover, and some yellowing on the top, bottom, and edges due to aging, but it is not very noticeable. Please check the photos for details. "The Taisho era is generally considered to be a rather unremarkable period. Unlike the preceding and following eras of Meiji and Showa, it did not experience any major wars. Emperor Taisho, the reigning monarch, was also less prominent than the Emperors Meiji and Showa, who were considered to be distinct figures. Furthermore, the Taisho era was only fifteen years long, a relatively short period compared to the forty-five years of the Meiji era and the sixty-three years of the Showa era, which may contribute to the perception of it as a less significant period. However, this fifteen-year Taisho era was not detached from the eras that preceded and followed it. Globally, and in Japan as well, the Taisho era was a product of the preceding Meiji era and the period that gave rise to the subsequent Showa era." (From the "Afterword")
