I CNC-milled aluminum wheels for Mini 4WD. I'm machining parts from the HG Low Height Heavy Aluminum Wheel II (Reversible, 2 pieces) Mini 4WD Special Edition. It's a low-bite aluminum dish-type design. After milling the inner dish part down to 1.0mm, I finished it with a 12-fin design. I aimed for the weight of plastic wheels. I also milled down the edges and axle parts by 0.5mm. The weight per wheel is: Before machining: 6.9g After machining: 1.2g, resulting in a weight reduction of 5.7g. Aluminum wheels have good precision, so selection isn't necessary! They weigh about the same as plastic wheels.
