This is a Shikishi-gama (tea kettle) made by the Living National Treasure, Ichikei Kakutani. It is Enshu-gonomi (preferred by Enshu) and features a shikishi (decorative paper) with poems by Saigyo Hoshi: "The water trickling down the rocks, the moss, I drink it all, how many times, my dwelling place," and by Jakuren, one of the Autumn Three Evenings: "The loneliness, it is not even in its color, the autumn evening at Mt. Maki." The painting on the original shikishi is said to be by Kano Tanyu. This is a rare Shikishi-gama, so please consider it. Height: 21 cm x Diameter: 16 cm Please forgive any slight errors due to amateur measurements.
